Verein LAAX OPEN

The ‘Verein Laax Open’ (VLO) is legally an association according to Swiss law & is the official organizer of the LAAX OPEN, which takes place annually in Laax, Switzerland.

As the central organizational unit domiciled in 7032 Laax, the association assumes overall responsibility for the conception, planning, & implementation of this internationally top-level sporting event.

With the aim of promoting & developing snowboarding & freeskiing at the highest level, the VLO acts as a bridge between athletes, partners, the media, tourism, & the local population. In doing so, the association relies on close cooperation with the Weisse Arena Group, local institutions, & national & international snowboarding associations.

Tasks & focus areas of the VLO:

Organization & implementation of the LAAX OPEN as a FIS Snowboard & Freeski World Cup
Promotion of young talent & snowboarding in general
Sustainable event design taking into account ecological & social aspects
Positioning the resort internationally as the leading freestyle destination through extensive worldwide media exposure
Maintaining a cultural & sporting framework that goes beyond the competitions

Through its commitment, the VLO makes a significant contribution to strengthening action sports in Switzerland & establishing Laax as an international stage for snowboarding & freeski professionals from all over the world.
